Control See’s UCME-OPC connects directly to the SunZia wind-farm SCADA system, providing automated alarm notification and escalation to operations and maintenance personnel.

Israel/United States, August 2026 – Control See Software Solutions is pleased to announce the deployment of UCME-OPC at the SunZia Wind and Transmission project, one of the largest clean energy infrastructure projects ever developed in the United States.

Developed by Pattern Energy, SunZia combines approximately 3,650 MW of wind generation in New Mexico with a 550+ mile ±525 kV High-Voltage Direct Current (HVDC) transmission line connecting New Mexico and Arizona. The project is designed to supply reliable renewable energy equivalent to the needs of approximately one million American homes annually.

At the SunZia wind farm, UCME-OPC is directly connected to the wind-farm SCADA system, providing an important communication layer between the SCADA environment and operations and maintenance personnel.

When critical alarms and operational events are detected by the SCADA system, UCME-OPC automatically distributes notifications to designated personnel through communication channels such as SMS, voice calls, email, and WhatsApp.

This enables operators and maintenance teams to receive critical SCADA alarms remotely and respond quickly, even when they are away from the control room.

Extending SCADA Alarm Management Beyond the Control Room

Modern wind farms comprise large numbers of geographically distributed assets that must be continuously monitored by sophisticated SCADA systems.

While SCADA provides operators with centralized monitoring and control, critical alarms may require immediate attention even when responsible personnel are not actively monitoring a SCADA workstation.

UCME-OPC extends the SunZia SCADA alarm environment beyond the control room.

Through its connection to the wind-farm SCADA system, UCME-OPC can automatically process alarms and initiate predefined notification and escalation workflows.

If the designated recipient does not respond, the alarm can be escalated to additional personnel according to configured procedures, helping ensure that critical events are not overlooked.
